City of Lavonia

Full-Time Position

The City of Lavonia has a full-time position available in the Water Department.  Job duties include but not limited to: repairs/maintenance of water and sewer services, include landscape with grass cutting mulching, providing courteous customer service. Required 40 hours per week and after hour duty (on-call responsibilities). Qualifications include valid Ga. Driver’s License with the ability to obtain CDL, High School Diploma/GED, minimum of 1-year prior experience. This position includes benefits: Health & Life Insurance – Retirement – Paid Vacation, Sick Leave & Holidays.

Full-Time Position 

The City of Lavonia is seeking a full-time Water/Sewer Distribution Superintendent.  This position offers full benefits and retirement. 

A High School Diploma or GED is required.  The applicant must be a Certified Water Distribution Operator in the State of Georgia or can obtain certification within 18 months of employment.  Applicants with experience in supervision and training of 8 or more employees.  Applicants with experience in utility work, plumbing, or construction are encouraged to apply. 

Applicant must possess a valid Georgia Driver's license (class C)/Class A CDL and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.  The applicant must submit to a comprehensive criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug screening.

The City of Lavonia is seeking a full-time Finance Director.  This position offers full benefits and retirement.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Accounting and three years’ experience in public or municipal finance are required.

Position requires, managing Finance, and Utility Billing Departments in safeguarding of City assets, with monitoring the City’s operating budget and long-term financial plans.  Applicant responsibilities include overseeing business & alcohol license, various accounting/bookkeeping functions, prepares/manages adopted budget for departments.   Applicant must submit to a comprehensive criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
